Federal Air Transport Agency: Almost all the European airlines are ready to provide passenger name records

Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) held a meeting on November 22nd 2013 with the participation of EU airlines. The meeting was dedicated to entry into effect of the order of Russian Ministry of Transport number 243 (“About procedure for creation and maintenance of automated centralized passenger name records databases and provision of information from the databases”) signed on July 19th 2012. The order will come into effect on December 1st 2013, the agency’s press-service reports.

«The representatives of 18 European airlines performing flights to Russia (or flights across the territory of Russian Federation) took part in the meeting. The representatives of FSUE “ZashitaInfoTrans” demonstrated a presentation related to technical aspects of implementation of the ministry’s order in terms of provision of personal data of passengers and crews while performing flights to Russia or outside Russia», - Rosaviatsiya noted.

It was noted at the meeting that almost all the European carriers are ready to provide necessary information in API format (advanced passenger information), which is totally in line with EU legislation. All the technical questions at issue will be discussed by the parties in the course of work in order to implement the ministry’s order by December 1st 2013, the press-service noted.
