The regular meeting of the management board of Transaero was held on October 7th 2013. During the meeting the members of the board approved the leasing agreement with Sberbank Leasing (fully-owned subsidiary of Sberbank) for 12 Boeing 737-800 aircraft, the airline’s press-service reports.
The jets will be delivered to the customer during a period from 2015 to 2017. At present Transaero’s fleet comprises 24 aircraft leased from VTB Leasing, 21 ones – from VEB Leasing, 16 ones – from Sberbank Leasing, 4 ones – from the State Transport Leasing Company and 2 ones – from RB Leasing (subsidiary of Rosbank), the press-service noted.
CEO of Transaero, Olga Pleshakova, noted that Transaero has been working closely with Russian lessors since 2006. VTB Leasing was the first partner of Transaero in this area. As of today we have leased 55 foreign-produced aircraft from Russian lessors. Moreover, we have placed orders for 20 new aircraft including 4 new А380s (VEB-Leasing will take part in the deal).
