Russia and India are considering a possibility for launching the production of Sukhoi SuperJet 100 and МS-21 aircraft in India, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the head of Department for Cooperation with Asia and Africa of the Ministry of Economic Development of RF, Evgeny Popov.
"Another project to be considered is related to promotion of Russian-produced aircraft with a possibility for cooperation in terms of its production. This refers to Sukhoi SuperJet 100 and MS-21 aircraft", — Popov said prior to the 19th meeting of Russian-Indian intergovernmental commission on trade and economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation.
Commenting the possibility of launching the jets’ assembly in India, he said: "Yes, it’s possible, because the Indian party believes that the cost of one jet may be decreased by 40% by means of relocating the production to India".
