The data accuracy of GLONASS system should reach 1.5 meters by 2020, RIA Novosti reports. It was stated by the head of test center for communication and navigation satellites of G.S. Titov Main Test Center for space systems trials and control, Colonel Alexander Kozhinov.

He explained that at present the data accuracy of GLONASS system is 5 meters, but this parameter will improve.

"I think that we will be able to achieve the data accuracy of 1.5-2 meters soon. We hope that we will achieve even better accuracy by 2020", - Alexander Kozhinov said.

According to the Colonel, the future of GLONASS system lies in increasing of its accuracy. This goal may be achieved in several ways. "There are two ways for solving this problem – improvement of satellites and ground systems", - he added.
