Russian Ministry of Defense will use GLONASS system for controlling spacecraft, RIA Novosti reports with reference to associate administrator of G.S. Titov Main Test Center for space systems trials and control, Sergey Berezhnoi.

"In future we will be widely using GLONASS system for controlling spacecraft. At present we are testing these systems", - Sergey Berezhnoi said.

He also noted that GLONASS will become more and more wide-spread in course of time. According to him, in future control system of spacecraft will become more autonomous. Data exchange with the ground facilities will be decreasing as well as the “necessity to interfere from the Earth in order to fix problems”.
