Passenger traffic of Russian airlines was over 56.6 million passengers during 8 months of 2013

Federal Air Transport Agency has unveiled the statistics on passenger and cargo traffic of Russian airlines over the period of 8 months of 2013. 
 
According to this statistics, the passenger turnover of the airlines during the accounting period was 151 247 987,85 thousand passenger-kilometers, (+17.4% as compared to the same period of the last year). The cargo turnover was 3 274 093,33thousand ton-kilometers (+0,3%).
 
During the accounting period (January-August 2013) Russian carriers have transported 56 686 612 passengers (+15.5% as compared to the same period of 2012). The scope of transported cargo and mail was 644 840,39 tons (+2.2%). The passenger load factor was 80.5% and the commercial load factor was 66.9%.

As for the August statistics, the Russian airlines have transported 9 812 143 passengers (+11.8%) and 83 330,3 tons of cargo and mail (-2.2%).
 
The top-5 carriers by passenger traffic in January-August 2013 are as follows: Aeroflot has transported 13 766 952 passengers (+19% as compared to the same period of 2012), Transaero - 8 494 445 passengers (+22.8%), UTair Aviation - 5 594 010 passengers (+8.3%), Siberia - 4 663 518 passengers (+12.9%), Rossiya - 3 114 381 passenger (+6.9%). These five carriers have transported a total of 35 633 306 passengers (+16.1%) during 8 months, which is equal to 62.9% of the total passenger traffic of the Russian airlines during the accounting period.
 
The five leading airlines by cargo traffic are: AirBridgeCargo – 272 877,5 tons of cargo and mail (+17.3% compared to the same period of 2012), Aeroflot – 118 894,4 tons of cargo and mail (-4.3%), Transaero 41 188,8 tons of cargo and mail (+3.5%), Volga-Dnepr - 38 114,2 tons of cargo and mail (-13.3%), Siberia 22 837 tons of cargo and mail (-1.6%). The above-mentioned five carriers have transported a total of 493 912 tons of cargo and mail (+6.5%) during 8 months, which is equal to 76.6% of the total cargo traffic of the Russian airlines during the accounting period.
