Federal Air Transport Agency has unveiled the statistics on passenger and cargo traffic of Russian airlines for September and the period of 9 months of 2013.
According to this statistics, the passenger turnover of the airlines during the accounting period was 172 925 976,11 thousand passenger-kilometers, (+16% as compared to the same period of the last year). The cargo turnover was 3 696 247,89 thousand ton-kilometers (+0,7%).
During the accounting period (January-September 2013) Russian carriers have transported 65 238 689 passengers (+14.7% as compared to the same period of 2012). The scope of transported cargo and mail was 730 010,99tons (+1.6%). The passenger load factor was 80.8% and the commercial load factor was 67.1%.
As for the September statistics, the Russian airlines have transported 8 551 772 passengers (+9.7%) and 85 200,57 tons of cargo and mail (-2.6%).
The top-5 carriers by passenger traffic in January-September 2013 are as follows: Aeroflot transported 15 732 326 passengers (+18.4% as compared to the same period of 2012), Transaero - 9 823 139 passengers (+21.6%), UTair Aviation - 6 352 185 passengers (+6.3%), Siberia - 5 354 536 passengers (+12.2%), Rossiya - 3 588 632 passenger (+6.7%). These five carriers have transported a total of 40 850 818 passengers (+15.1%) during 9 months, which is equal to 62.6% of the total passenger traffic of the Russian airlines during the accounting period.
The five leading airlines by cargo traffic are: AirBridgeCargo – 310 947,6 tons of cargo and mail (+17.5% compared to the same period of 2012), Aeroflot – 132 215,1 tons of cargo and mail (-6.8%), Transaero 47 655 tons of cargo and mail (+2.6%), Volga-Dnepr - 41 632,1tons of cargo and mail (-12.9%), Siberia 26 008 tons of cargo and mail (-2.8%). The above-mentioned five carriers have transported a total of 558 457,8 tons of cargo and mail (+5.9%) during 9 months, which is equal to 76.5% of the total cargo traffic of the Russian airlines during the accounting period.
