The orbit of ISS has been successfully raised by 1100 m, Gazeta.ru reports with reference to the Mission Control Center.

This operation was aimed at trimming the orbit of ISS prior to docking with Soyuz TMA-11M manned spacecraft carrying the crew of new ISS mission. Now the altitude of ISS’ orbit is 417,9 km.

«The engines of ATV-4 “Albert Einstein” transport ship docked with ISS have been used to trim the station’s orbit. This is the last trim of ISS’ orbit carried out using ATV-4 since the spacecraft will undock from the station on October 28th 2013 at 12.33 Moscow time. After that it will be sunk in a non-navigational area of Pacific Ocean», - a representative of the Mission Control Center said.

Mikhail Tyurin (Russia), Richard Mastracchio (USA) and Koiti Vakata (Japan) will form the crew of new ISS mission. This crew will deliver the Olympic Torch to the ISS.

The Soyuz spacecraft was launched from Baikonur cosmodrome on October 24th 2013 at 8.08 Moscow time.
