Belgorod International Airport is now able to service flights even under severe meteorological conditions. The acquisition of the certificate confirming the airport’s compliance with ICAO Category I standards will help increase the frequency of flights, the airport’s press-service reports.

According to the certificate, since October 11th 2013 the aircraft may land at Belgorod International Airport under the following conditions: runway visual range – at least 550 m (or horizontal visual range – at least 800 m) and cloud base of 60 m. These changes of meteorological minimum are particularly topical in view of autumn and winter navigation. The acquisition of the certificate confirming its compliance with ICAO Category I standards will help increase the frequency of flights at the airport", - the press-service added.

The airfield was inspected by the specialists of Interstate Aviation Committee. They have analyzed the condition of the airport’s lighting, radio and navigation facilities along with other necessary parameters.
