The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan took delivery of its first Mi-26T helicopter

Helicopter Service Company repaired and upgraded two Mi-26T helicopters in accordance with the order placed by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the ministry’s press-service reports.

«Mi-26T helicopters have been overhauled and fitted with state-of-the-art navigation and special-purpose equipment intended for rescue operations: urgent evacuation of injured people in case of emergencies and disasters with a capability of performing takeoff and landing using small areas; delivery of motor transport, special-purpose vehicles, medical brigades with medical equipment and relief workers; delivery of 14 tons of fuel and refueling of helicopters at field aerodrome or in the areas hit with emergency or disaster; fire-fighting, including hard-to-reach points of fire outbreak, using external container with a volume of 15 cubic meters», - said in the statement of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The first helicopter performed non-stop flight from Novosibirsk to Astana in October 2013. «It is the first helicopter of the type to be put into operation by Kazakhstan’s civil aviation», - the ministry noted.
