UTair-Express has put АТR 72-500 aircraft previously operated by UTair Aviation into service in the network of its fleet renewal program, the carrier’s press-service reports.
«This aircraft type was recorded in the Air Operator Certificate of UTair-Express. The delivered airliners started performing flights from Moscow to Voronezh and Kirov. In accordance with the approved schedule 13 ATR 72-500 aircraft (manufactured in 2011 and 2012) will be delivered to UTair-Express by February 28th 2014. They will be operated on popular regional routes, for example, Moscow – Ulyanovsk, Moscow – Nizhny Novgorod, Moscow – Tambov, Moscow – Kursk, Surgut – Yekaterinburg – Nizhny Novgorod, etc. », - UTair explained.
ATR 72-500 is the state-of-the-art twin-engine medium-haul turboprop manufactured by French-Italian concern ATR. Its cabin is fitted with 74 seats. UTair Group keeps expanding its fleet by means of purchasing new aircraft. This year UTair took delivery of three Airbus A321 (the jets were delivered directly from the manufacturer’s site in Toulouse). One more A321 should be delivered to the airline in 2013 (the contract for delivery of 20 jets of the type was signed in 2012) along with one Boeing 737-800 (in the network of the contract for delivery of 40 jets of the type signed in 2011), the carrier noted.
