EMERCOM’s aircraft continue to provide assistance to foreign colleagues in fighting wild fires

The air grouping of EMERCOM has been fighting wild fires in Balkan States since August 6th 2012, EMERCOM’s press-service reports. AEX.ru

«During the last 24 hours EMERCOM’s Be-200 and Il-76 aircraft and Ka-32 helicopter have performed 17 sorties, 29 water discharges – a total of 363 tons of water have been discharged upon seats of fire», - the Ministry noted.

At present the work of EMERCOM’s aviation assets is focused upon administrative borders of Serbia with Kosovo and Bulgaria, where the situation connected with wild fires, remains intricate. The work in the area of Taro national park also continues.

«Starting from August 6th aviation of EMERCOM of Russia performed 146 sorties and 438 water discharges in the network of fighting wild fires in Balkan States. A total of 3652 tons of water have been discharged», - EMERCOM explained.
