A transport airship with a weight-lift ability of 10 tons will be developed in Russia, said in the draft program “Development of the aircraft industry until 2025”, developed by Ministry of Industry and Trade (MIT), Gazeta.ru reports.

In addition, “Science and technology” subprogram of the MIT’s new program assumes work on the following subjects: «Aircraft 2020» (the following options are considered: supersonic aircraft, heavy transport aircraft, heavy unmanned aircraft), «Aircraft 2030», «Advanced medium helicopter», «Vertikal 21», etc.

$13.8 billion (4448.608 billion rubles) are intended for financing of aeronautical science until 2025. The largest scope of finance is scheduled for 2023 – 59,35 billion rubles.

The development of next-generation airships is currently underway in many countries of the world, including USA and EU countries. The reason for this is that airships are able to takeoff, land and deliver cargo to unprepared locations. Another reason for this is their weight-liftability.
