According to the authors of the state program “Development of the aircraft industry”, the revenues of 248 Russian aviation enterprises were over $18.9 bln (608 billion rubles) in 2011, Kommersant reports.
At that the total volume of global aviation market was $278 billion in 2011 (about 64% of it is accounted for civil segment).
The volume of the global aircraft market, including civil and military segment, was $155 billion. 53% of it was accounted for USA. "Russia was almost absent at the global market of new civil aircraft and its share at the global aircraft market was 3,4% — mostly owing to sales of military aircraft",— said in the draft program.
The volume of the global helicopter market was $20,3 billion in 2011. Its key players are EU countries — they have manufactured helicopters with a total value of $8,8 billion in 2011 (43,3% of the global market). Russia’s share is 14,2%, mostly owing to the deliveries of military helicopters.
The volume of the global market of aero engines was $57 billion in 2011; avionics — $21 billion, aviation systems and aggregates — $44 billion. USA is the world’s largest manufacturer at these markets (aero engines - 57,6%, avionics - 72,7%, aggregates and systems - 35,2%). Russian Federation is presented in these sectors mostly due to deliveries of component for military use: its share at the markets of aero engines, avionics, systems and aggregates in 2011 was 3,5%, 6% and less than 1% respectively.
