Transaero received the Extended EASA Certificate, which allows carrying out the base aircraft maintenance at Vnukovo airport. The maintenance will be carried out in accordance with the agreement signed by the carrier and Vnukovo aircraft repair plant №400 (VARZ-400), the airline’s press-service reports. AEX.ru

Now Transaero is able to perform A-check of Boeing 747-300/400s along with two-year maintenance checks of Boeing 777-200/300s.

«In the network of the agreement with VARZ-400 Transaero rents the plant’s hangar with all the necessary equipment and the area of 12800 square meters. This hangar has two sections, which allow allocation of two Boeing 747 or Boeing 777 aircraft. Now the airline is able to perform A-check of its largest aircraft at the airport of Moscow Air Cluster», - the airline explained.

The opening of Transaero maintenance center in Vnukovo represents the consistent implementation of plans on development of cooperation between the airline and the airport in accordance with the strategic partnership memorandum signed on February 21st 2012, Transaero noted.

At present Transaero is able to perform the base aircraft maintenance at its service centers in Shannon (Ireland), Domodedovo and Pulkovo airports. The carrier also has some line servicing stations at Sheremetyevo (Moscow), Koltsovo (Yekaterinburg), Tolmachevo (Novosibirsk) and Suvarnabhumi (Bangkok).

«The development and modernization of our own capabilities in the area of aircraft maintenance has always been one of the top-priority objectives of Transaero. Transaero was the first Russian airline to acquire the FAA certificate for independent maintenance of American aircraft (the certificate was presented to the carrier in 1996). Later the company acquired a certificate for maintenance of foreign aircraft in accordance with European JAR system. Transaero’s aviation training center acquired EASA certificate in 2012, which allows carrying out training of  maintenance personnel servicing Boeing aircraft in accordance with EU regulations, Russian and international standards», - the carrier’s press-service reports.

Transaero will continue expanding the terms of reference of its EASA certificate to the base forms of repair of any complexity, the airline noted.
