The pilots of Sukhoi Company have won 15 medals in Unlimited Power category at the FAI European Aerobatic Championship, press-service of Sukhoi Company reports. AEX.ru
"In the individual competitions the pilots of Sukhoi have won 8 gold medals (Svetlana Kapanina, Elena Klimovich, Mikhail Maistov), 3 silver medals (S.Kapanina and E. Klimovich) and 4 bronze ones (S.Kapanina, Е.Klimovich, М.Mamistov and О.Shpolyanskiy). Mikhail Mamistov, the Honored Master of Sports, nine-fold aerobatics champion of Russia, became the all-round aerial aerobatics champion of Europein Unlimited Power category. French pilots came in second and third", - the company noted.
Elena Klimovich became the woman’s all-round champion and Svetlana Kapanina came in third.
M.Mamistov became the all-round aerial aerobatics champion of Europe in the same category in Italy in 2011. Svetlana Kapanina won the title of woman’s all-round champion in 2011.
Team Russia flying Su-26М3, Su-31М and Su-31М-2 aircraft came in second, trailing Team France by 0,33%. TeamGermanycameinthird.
The 18th European Aerobatic Championship was held on September 1st-9th 2012 at Dubnica nad Vahom, Slovakia. 36 pilots from Germany, Belgium, Russia, France, UK, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Austria (and from Japan and USA – out of competition) participated in the championship. The competition included four programs in the most prestigious category – Unlimited Power.
The head coach of Team Russia, Honored Coach of Russia and Honored Master of Sports, Viktor Smolin, and the engineers: Alexey Shklyaev and Andrey Polikarpov, have shared the triumph with the pilots, Sukhoi Company noted.
The flying club of Sukhoi design bureau (forming part of Sukhoi Holding Company) was founded more than 20 years ago. 220 pilots (masters of sports and candidate masters of sports) have been trained in the club. The pilots of the flying club are multifold medal winners of Russian and European Championships in individual and team classification.
