Damascus plans to purchase 15 Russian passenger aircraft for Syrian Air – the flag carrier of Syria, Kommersant reports with reference to the statement of Syrian prime-minister Wael Nader Al-Halqi.
«The government has taken a decision on acquisition of 15 Russian civil aircraft until 2015», — he said after the Cabinet meeting held in the headquarters of Syrian Air in Damascus.
He also noted that the possibility of urgent purchase of two Russian aircraft is being considered by the government. The decision will be made in two months, Syrian Minister of Transport explained.
