Kumertau Aviation Production Enterprise celebrates its 50th anniversary

Kumertau Aviation Production Enterprise (KumAPE), forming part of Russian Helicopters Holding Company, celebrates its 50th anniversary. The enterprise manufactures coaxial civil and military helicopters developed by Kamov design bureau. AEX.ru

At present KumAPE is one of the largest industrial enterprises of Russia, which manufactures advanced civil and military helicopters developed by Kamov design bureau (Kamov is also forming part of Russian Helicopters Holding Company). The enterprise has a unique intellectual and technological potential, and a vast experience in serial production of advanced helicopters, Russian Helicopters noted.

KumAPE manufactures civil Ка-32 and Ка-226 helicopters; along with the following military ones: Ка-27, Ка-28, Ка-29 and Ка-31.

The enterprise’s main products are medium multi-purpose Ka-32 and light Ka-226 helicopters. Ka-32 is the civil version of Ka-27PL ship-based helicopter. Ka-32 helicopters are being successfully operated in Canada, South Korea, Switzerland, Chile, Mexico, Spain, Portugal, Taiwan, Japan, China, Papua New Guinea and other countries.

Kumertau Aviation Production Enterprise was founded in 1962 on the basis of Kumertau machinery and repair plant. Its first product, the Ka-26 helicopter was manufactured in 1968. During 50 years KumAPE became one of the Russia’s leading manufacturers of helicopters. The products of this enterprise are in demand all over the world. Russian Helicopters Holding Company is one of the key players at the global market of civil helicopters intended for carrying out special work in the mountains, on the sea of under restrained urban conditions, the company noted.
