Russia secured a victory at the 14th World Helicopter Championship

Russian Helicopters Holding Company, the subsidiary of Oboronprom Corporation, one of the global leading developers and manufacturers of helicopters, including a number of the most popular, innovative and wide-spread models, congratulates Russian pilots on a convincing win at the 14th World Helicopter Championship. Russian Federation secured the team overall victory, said in the statement of company’s press-service. AEX.ru

"According to the organizers, Russian crews won in all the exercises: «Navigation», «Precise flight» and «Slalom», along with «Delivery of cargo», where Russian participants won all the top places. In addition, Russia won the title among female crews, where Ludmila Kosenkova and Elena Prokophieva secured the victory. The crew formed by Alexander Zhuperin and Nikolay Burov took the title of overall champion", - Russian Helicopters noted.

In such competitions the crew is formed by a pilot and a navigator. They must work as a team in order to pass all the tests for speed and piloting precision, which require vast experience and professionalism.

The 14th World Helicopter Championship was held on August 22nd – 26th at Drakino airfield (Serpukhov District, Moscow Region). The crews from 11 countries participated in the competition: Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Austria, Belgium, UK, Germany, China, Poland, France and Switzerland.

"The victory of Team Russia proves once again the supreme skills of Russian pilots. Thanks to them Russia gets the deserved status in the aviation sector. Russian Helicopters Holding Company – the general partner of the championship, supports promotion of helicopter sport in Russia and development of civil helicopter sector", - Russian Helicopters stated.
