Deputy Chairman of the RF Government, Dmitry Rogozin; Presidental Advisor, Igor Levitin; Plenipotentiary of the President in Privolzhsky Federal District, Mikhail Babich; senator of the Federation Council, Konstantin Titov; Minister of Transport, Maxim Sokolov; Governor of Ulyanovsk Region, Sergey Morozov; and Chairman of the Management Board of the German-Russian Chamber of Commerce, Michael Harms, greeted the participants of IATF-2012.
«It is remarkable that we have gathered here in Ulyanovsk. We are verging towards great positive changes for our country and industry. Russian Federation cannot exist without its own aircraft. The first Il-476 was manufactured here at Ulyanovsk-based Aviastar-SP and the jet will perform its maiden flight soon. We will gradually replace the foreign vehicles with the advanced Russian ones», - Dmitry Rogozin declared.
Mikhail Babich noted that the problems discussed at the forum are very important for the whole aircraft industry. «Ulyanovsk is rightly laying claim to the title of Russia’s aviation capital. Engineering science and industrial enterprises are concentrated here. A special economic zone was created in the region», - Plenipotentiary of the President in Privolzhsky Federal District underlined.
We remind you that "Russian aviation and the challenges of globalization" international congress will be held in the network of IATF-2012. The participants of the congress will discuss prospects of the national aircraft industry, capabilities of the global logistics in the area of cargo transportation, development of regional air transportation and airport activities. Among other problems to be considered during the congress are: resuming the production of An-124 Ruslan aircraft, maintenance and repair of aircraft, cluster approach in the aerospace industry, etc.
In addition, the participants will be able to visit an international exhibition, where more than 60 companies from different countries will present their achievements in the area of transport aviation and cluster economy, the press-service explained.
It is planned to sign more than 10 agreements aimed at development of aircraft industry not only in Ulyanovsk, but also in other cities of Russia. Among the key agreements are: memorandum of entry of Ulyanovsk cluster Consortium "Ulyanovsk-Avia" into the European Aerospace Cluster Partnership (EACP), memorandum on purchase of Tu-204SM Family aircraft, and agreement on the implementation of the investment project “Establishment of a center of maintenance and repair of aircraft” in the port special economic zone.
The air show held at the Vostochny airport on August 25th will be the culmination of IATF-2012. Festive activities devoted to Russian Air Fleet Day and closing of IATF-2012 will be taking place since 10.00 at the airport’s territory. The air show with participation of leading aerobatic teams - “Perviy Polet” (Russia) and Baltic Bees (Latvia); Аn-124 Ruslan jets, and aircraft manufactured during Second World War. The best pilots of Russia will demonstrate aerobatic maneuvers. In addition, a children’s amusement park will be opened for the guests. The region’s residents will also be able to visit the display of aircraft, the forum’s gallery, where the exact copies of aircraft and thematic photos will be demonstrated. The visitors may also have a rest in a café or at the entertainment venue.
