Sheremetyevo international airport has closed the books on July and 7 months of 2012. The number of serviced passengers has increased by 17,5% as compared to the same period of 2011 and reached 14 556 000, the airport’s press-service reports. AEX.ru

The airport’s passenger traffic on international airlines has increased by 18,1% during the period from January to July and it is 9 497 000 passengers, as for domestic airlines – by 16,2 % to 5 059 000 passengers.

Sheremetyevo airport has serviced 2 786 000 passengers in July 2012 (+13%). Meanwhile, the passenger traffic on international routes has increased by 17.2% to 1 889 000, and on domestic routes - by 5% to 897,000 passengers.

The most popular international destinations during the 7 months of this year were Paris, Antalya, Hurghada, Sharm el-Sheikh, Prague, Istanbul, Beijing and the federal ones were – St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Sochi, Krasnodar, Vladivostok and Rostov-on-Don.

Sheremetyevo airport performed 130 560 takeoff and landing operations in January-July 2012 (+10.4%). The number of takeoff and landing operations in July 2012 was 21 128 (+5.2%).

According to ACI EUROPE rating, following the results of July 2012 Sheremetyevo was the leader among European airports with passenger traffic of 10-25 million passengers per year by the increase of passenger traffic (+13.7%).
