Domodedovo airport has serviced 3 139 513 passengers in July 2012 (+7.9% as compared to July 2011). The number of takeoff and landing operations was 24 985. Following the results of January-July 2012 period, the airport’s passenger traffic has reached 15 484 510 passengers (+9.6% as compared to the same period of 2011). The greatest increase of passenger traffic on domestic airlines was recorded in July 2012 – the airport has serviced 1 278 288 passengers (+18.5%). During the January-July 2012 period Domodedovo serviced 6 286 670 on domestic airlines (+13.9%). The following destinations contributed to the growth of this indicator (+24.3%): St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Krasnodar, Anapa and Sochi. The passenger traffic on these destinations was 1 783 thousand passengers.
The passenger traffic on international airlines was 1 861 225 passengers in July 2012. The airport serviced 9 197 840 passengers on international airlines during January-July 2012 (+6,8% as compared to the same period of 2011). The greatest growth has been recorded on the following destinations: Kiev, Minsk, Dubai, Bangkok and Barcelona. The passenger traffic on these destinations was 1 100 thousand passengers in January-July 2012 (+39,9%).
The cargo traffic of Domodedovo increased by 3.5% in July 2012 and reached 16 340 tons. During the period from January to July 2012 its cargo traffic was 105 616 tons (+3,4%).
Domodedovo airport is constantly improving the quality of its services. The airport is paying special attention to the gastronomic preferences of its passengers. It has already held a presentation of the new menu (intended for autumn – winter season) with participation of members of Degustation Council (journalists and representatives of the airlines).
Another unconventional presentation was held by Domodedovo, Kolavia and TUI tour operator in mid-summer. The companies have presented a new service – flights under the tour operator’s brand. This cooperation helps control service at every stage of your journey and creates new quality of service.
Domodedovo presented the results of monthly competition between the most punctual Russian and foreign airlines to general public in July for the first time. This competition was established by the airport five years ago and it is held in accordance with strict international standards: only 15 minutes are appropriated for unforeseen circumstances, which may cause the delay of flight. The most punctual carriers of Domodedovo in July are: Transaero, Kolavia, Saratov Airlines, Avia Management Group, Lufthansa, Swiss International Air Lines, bmi and airBaltic.
Domodedovo attracts passengers with its vast and constantly expanding route network (244 destinations and 87 of them are unique within the Moscow Air Cluster). A new route was added to it in July – Transaero started performing regular flights to Paris.
A new airline – AIR ONIX has entered Russian market in July. The carrier has chosen Domodedovo as its partner in the network of Moscow Air Cluster. The airline has opened two regular daily flights to Simferopol, thus the frequency on this destination has reached 44 flights per week.
