Russian Rocket and Space Corporation Energia (RSC Energia) will present mock-ups of International Space Station (ISS) in its 2016 configuration (RSC Energia is the prime integrator and developer of ISS’s Russian segment) and advanced next-generation spacecraft, which is currently being developed in the network of the Federal Space Program, at Farnborough International Air Show (UK), RIA Novosti reports.

Farnborough International Air Show will be held on July 9th-15th 2012.

The multi-role manned spacecraft should have replaced Soyuz manned spacecraft and unmanned Progress cargo spacecraft. The craft will be wingless and it will have recoverable stage. The maximum number of spacecraft’s crew members is six, the weight of the cargo delivered to the orbit – 500 kg and more (with less people onboard).

As reported by RSC Energia, its stand (with an area of 60 square meters) will be a part of joint Roscosmos exhibit with a total area of 390 square meters.

RSC Energia will also present mock-ups of Soyuz and Progress spacecraft developed and manufactured by the Corporation, said in the statement.

“In addition, the visitors will be able to work as cosmonauts-operators using a simulator developed for training of spacecraft manual docking with the ISS, to get a feel for the process of Progress spacecraft docking with the station (the similar simulator is located onboard)”, - the Corporation reports

RSC Energia will also present its activities under the Sea Launch program. In particular, RSC Energia is responsible for manufacturing and integration of the advanced high-precision upper stage Block DM-SL within the framework of this program. It is known that after restructuring of the Sea Launch Company, launches of spacecraft under the Sea Launch program have been resumed: two launches have taken place on September 25th, 2011 and June 1st, 2012.

The visitors will be able to get acquainted with the features of the Sea Launch sea-based rocket and space facility using, for instance, the mock-ups of the Launch Platform Odyssey and Assembly and Command Ship Sea Launch Commander.

“This show is the efficient platform for establishing business contacts and conducting negotiations with potential customers and partners. That is why the participation of RSC Energia’s specialists in several meetings is planned in the network of schedule for delegations of Roscosmos and RSC Energia”, - the Corporation noted.
