The defense companies will have more freedom while signing contracts with foreign clients, Vladimir Putin promised during a meeting dedicated to military-technical cooperation held in Sochi. According to the president, Russia should earn on maintenance and repair of vehicles delivered abroad, however, at present the excess amount of different approvals gets in the way, Izvestiya reports.

«We must look up to expansion of Russian presence at the global arms market. This refers to geography of deliveries, range of products and services», — Putin said.

Putin proposed to facilitate the signing of contracts with foreign clients and make “the operation principle more flexible”. According to him, the national enterprises are already able to sign contracts with Western customers on delivery of spare parts and carrying out repair of the delivered vehicles outright.

This meeting of the Commission on Military-Technical Cooperation was traditionally confidential. Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sergey Lavrov; vice-premier, Dmitry Rogozin; Secretary of Security Council, Nikolay Patrushev; Minister of Industry and Trade, Denis Manturov; Minister of Finance, Anton Siluanov; Director of Foreign Intelligence Service, Mikhail Fradkov; Minister of Defense, Anatoly Serdukov and CEO of Russian Technologies State Corporation, Sergey Chemezov, have taken part in the meeting.
