Sheremetyevo airport is ready for servicing Boeing 787

Sheremetyevo International Airport was authorized for servicing Boeing 787 Dreamliner and its modifications. The corresponding directive (effective from August 1st 2012) was issued by the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya), the airport’s press-service reports. AEX.ru

Sheremetyevo airport has passed the certification and inspection in accordance with “Suitability codes for civil aerodromes” in order to receive authorization for servicing Boeing 787 aircraft.

"The inspection of the airport was carried out in several areas including: air navigation services; meteorological, aviation-engineering and radio-technical support of the B 787’s flights; transportation and handling of passengers; security; emergency and rescue support; preparedness of ground facilities, special transport and airport’s technical supply. In addition, the airport’s personnel have passed the additional training in accordance with “Aspects of Ground Handling of B 787 and its modifications” program and gained clearance for servicing the jet. The personnel training was carried out by the Boeing’s specialists. The aerodrome’s elements and technical equipment have also been inspected (dimensions and pavement strength of the runway, taxi ways and apron, etc.)", - the airport noted.  

The inspection confirmed that Sheremetyevo airport is ready for servicing Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
