Ivchenko-Progress (Ukraine) is developing a next-generation engine for Аn-148 family aircraft, General Designer of Ivchenko-Progress, Igor Kravchenko, said during a press-conference. AEX.ru

"We are developing new AI-28 engine intended for Аn-148, Аn-158, Аn-168 and Аn-178 aircraft. At present we are discussing the performance specifications with Antonov State Enterprise", - Igor Kravchenko said.

According to him, the enterprise has already done a great preliminary work in the network of the project. A great amount of work was performed in order to choose the optimal concept. «At present we have started the design definition phase», - he said.

Igor Kravchenko noted that AI-28 engine is being developed in accordance with the intergovernmental agreement with Russia.
