Motor-Sich (Ukraine) received an offer from Sikorsky Aircraft regarding re-engining of S-61 helicopters. It was reported by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Motor Sich, Vyacheslav Boguslaev. AEX.ru

«Sikorsky is the respected helicopter company in USA. They have S-61 helicopter, which is slightly smaller than Мi-17 and it is equipped with GE engine (with a capacity of 1400 h.p.). But the vehicle is unable to perform flights under conditions of hot weather. That is why Sikorsky got in touch with us», - Boguslaev said.

According to him, Motor Sich has already held several meetings with Igor Sikorsky to discuss the re-engining of S-61 helicopter.
