Russian Ministry of Defense will acquire two Su-30SМ and 15 Yak-130 aircraft

Irkut Corporation will deliver two Su-30SM and 15 Yak-130 aircraft to the Russian Ministry of Defense in 2012, Alexey Fedorov, president of Irkut Corporation, stated. It was reported by RIA Novosti.

According to the previously signed contracts, Irkut will deliver a total of 55 Yak-130s and 30 Su-30SMs aircraft to the Russian air forces. According to Fedorov, the latter one is the modernized version of Indian Su-30MKI.

"There are a lot of questions connected with Su-30SM; the whole compartments are being modified. The work is running constantly", - Fedorov said.

He also added that the company has “old” Su-30Ks taken from India in the network of modernization and delivery of new Sukhoi aircraft. “At present these jets are located in Belarus. We are ready to upgrade them for our customers. Maybe Vietnam will acquire them", - Fedorov said answering the question regarding possible deliveries of Su-30s to Vietnam.
