According to Center for Analysis of World Arms Trade (CAWAT), Su fighters are ranked first in the world export of new fighters for the period from 2008 to 2015, said the Director of CAWAT, Igor Korotchenko, RIA Novosti reports.
On the eve of Farnborough International Airshow 2012, CAWAT has issued a report on world export of new fighters. The accounting was performed for the period from 2008 to 2015. The analysis was carried out for the periods of 4 years.
"Su fighters are ranked first by quantity (aggregative index of manufacturing companies - Sukhoi and Irkut). This refers to 280 vehicles with a total value of $12,73 billion", - Korotchenko said.
According to CAWAT, Lockheed Martin is ranked second - 204 vehicles with a total value of $15,15 billion. Chinese Chengdu company is ranked third by the quantity of delivered and intended for delivery fighters - 179 vehicles with a total value of $3,37 billion.
According to the CAWAT’s forecast, the share of Su fighters in the world exports of new multi-role fighters will be 15,7% in 2012-2015 (21.9% by quantity). According to CAWAT, 109 new fighters will be delivered to the customers (their total value is $5.33 billion taking into account the license program with India).
In addition, it is noted in the CAWAT’s report that RAC MiG may significantly strengthen its positions at the global market of new multi-role fighters in 2012-2015. Its share in the world exports will be 7,9% (11.9% by quantity).
It is forecasted that 59 new MiG fighters (total value is $2.67 billion) will be delivered to the customers during 2012-2015 period. For reference: MiG has delivered 30 vehicles to the foreign customers in 2008-2011 (5,6% of the global market by quantity) with a total value of $1,13 billion.
