Ural Airlines opened its own training center for pilots of Airbus A320 aircraft on June 26th 2012, the company’s press-service reports. The new training center will allow the company to carry out training of its flying personnel using individual programs in order to improve professional skills of the pilots and flight safety. Deputy Head of the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya), Oleg Storchevoy, Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the RF President in the Ural Federal District, Alexander Sidorov, and the Head of the Administration of the Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region, Yakov Silin, participated in the opening ceremony.
"We understand that the most important objective of the airline is the training of its pilots. Therefore the money invested in this facility represent are the right and well-timed investments even in the current difficult economic situation", - said CEO of the airline, Sergey Skuratov, during the opening ceremony.
State-of-the-art flight simulator was acquired by the airline in Netherlands. It was manufactured in accordance with the order of Ural Airlines by one of the major global manufacturers - Sim Industries, which recently joined Lockheed Martin. The cost of equipment was €7.5 million. The training center of the Ural Airlines is the unique one in Russia. It meets the requirements of the highest international standards and has Level-D certificate (allows training of pilots without using the real aircraft). The flight simulator’s configuration corresponds to the Airbus А320 aircraft. The equipment was certified by both international and Russian aviation authorities and can be operated without any additional upgrades during the period of 15 years. Such flight simulators are used for pilot training by the leading global airlines: Emirates, Air France, Lufthansa, etc.
