Sukhoi design bureau intends to speed up the testing of PAK FA

The flight testing of Prospective Airborne Complex – Frontline Aviation (PAK FA), the fifth-generation fighter developed by Sukhoi design bureau, is in progress, ARMS-TASS reports. According to the company’s annual report presented on Sukhoi’s website, the flight test program of PAK FA for 2011 has been completed in full with the participation of three prototypes - Т-50-1/2/3. It is planned that the fourth prototype (T-50-4) will join the flight testing in 2012".

Sukhoi design bureau’s net profit was 992 million rubles in 2011 (964 million in 2010), said in the document.

According to Sukhoi design bureau, it has completed the first stage of work on detailed design of advanced multi-role FGFA fighter developed on the basis of solutions used during development of PAK FA in accordance with the contract signed by Rosoboronexport and HAL (India) in 2010. This includes the completion of project for components of FGFA and research activities scheduled for 2011.

According to the report, Sukhoi design bureau continues the research and development work on development of Su-35/Su-35S multi-role fighter along with engineering support of Su-34 bomber’s serial production.

"The company has also upgraded some aircraft for the Ministry of Defense (Su-27SМ, Su-25UBМ, Su-30М2), and carried out research and development work aimed at performance of export deliveries of Su-30МК2, Su-30МКI, Su-30МКI(А), Su-30МКМ", - said in the document.

In accordance with a state contract signed in 2009 by KnAAPO and Russian Ministry of Defense on delivery of Su-35S fighters by 2015, the engineering support of their serial production was being carried out. The joint testing of four prototypes Su-35-1,2 and Su-35S-1,2 was carried out in the network of contract between Sukhoi Holding Company and Sukhoi design bureau.

Sukhoi design bureau was also providing engineering support of Su-34’s serial production in the network of contract signed by NAPO named after V.P.Chkalov and Russian Ministry of Defense. The testing with engagement of new types of air-launched weapons has been carried out in order to extend the combat capabilities of Su-34.

In addition, significant contribution to the development of civil aircraft (SSJ-100 and MC-21) was made by the specialists of the design bureau.
