Following the results of May 2012 Domodedovo airport is traditionally in the lead among the airports of Moscow Air Cluster – its passenger traffic was 2 267 260 passengers (+9.9% as compared to April 2012). The number of takeoff and landing operations was 21 210, the airport’s press-service reports. AEX.ru

Following the results of January-May 2012 period, 9 593 420 passengers made use of Domodedovo’s services (+11,2% as compared to the similar period of 2011).

The passenger traffic on international airlines was 5 692 771 passengers in January-May 2012 (+9,9% as compared to the same period of 2011). The greatest growth has been recorded on the following destinations: Dubai, Kiev, Bangkok, Minsk, Phuket. The passenger traffic on these destinations was 764 thousand passengers (+41,4%).

The passenger traffic on domestic was 3 900 649 passengers (+13,1%). The following destinations contributed to the growth of this indicator: Yekaterinburg, St. Petersburg, Krasnodar, Anapa, Sochi. The passenger traffic on these destinations was 1 090 thousand passengers (+24,1%).

Domodedovo is expanding its cargo destinations: during the period from January to May 2012 its cargo traffic was 72619 tons (+3,3%).

Domodedovo airport is constantly improving the quality of its services. Thus the passengers were able to rate the new menu specially developed for spring-summer season by Domodedovo’s catering service. Rainer Sigg, the famous chef de cuisine, owner of Michelin stars, was invited to take part in the creation of this menu.

From May 20th on the tourists departing from Domodedovo, who use services of Transaero and Biblio Globus, are able to check-in and choose the seats in the aircraft’s cabin while purchasing the tour package. This unique service helps save time needed to check-in.

Domodedovo attracts passengers with its vast and constantly expanding route network. Three airlines have opened four new destinations at the airport in May (Noyabrsk, Goteborg, Ulyanovsk and Gorno-Altaisk). At that two of these destinations – Goteborg (Yamal Airlines) and Gorno-Altaisk (S7 Airlines) are unique. The flight frequency has been increased on the following destinations in May 2012: Kazan (S7 Airlines), Riga (airBaltic), Mineralnie Vodi (S7 Airlines), Barnaul (S7 Airlines).
