Russian airlines have transported more than 18,4 million passengers during four months of 2012

Federal Air Transport Agency has unveiled the statistics on passenger and cargo traffic of Russian airlines in January-April 2012. AEX.ru

According to this statistics, the passenger turnover of the airlines during the accounting period was 50 699 316.40 thousand passenger-kilometers, (+ 21,7% as compared to the same period of the last year). The cargo turnover was 1 150 005,99 thousand ton-kilometers (+ 10,2%).

During the accounting period (January-April 2012) Russian carriers have transported 18 488 771 passengers (+19.8% as compared to the same period of 2011). The scope of transported cargo and mail was 310 706.91 tons (+8.9%). The passenger load factor has remained at 74,8% mark and the commercial load factor was 62.9%.

As for the April statistics, the Russian airlines have transported 5 109 989 passengers (+18.7%) and 85 811.34 tons of cargo and mail (+8.7%).

The top-5 carriers by passenger traffic in January-April 2012 are as follows: Aeroflot has transported 4 943 489 passengers (+29,3% as compared to the same period of 2011), Transaero - 2 404 935 passengers (+36.1%), UTair - 2 173 219 passengers (+63.5%), Siberia - 1 620 913 passengers (+15.2%), Rossiya - 1 008 581  passenger (+24.3%).

The five leading airlines by cargo traffic are: AirBridgeCargo – 115 764.2  tons of cargo and mail (+11.3% compared to the same period of 2011), Aeroflot – 59 680.3 tons of cargo and mail (+28.3%), Volga-Dnepr - 25 432.2 tons of cargo and mail (+25.9%), Transaero – 16 564.8 tons of cargo and mail (+25,9%), Siberia – 10 876.0 tons of cargo and mail (-4,1%).
