The elite pilots of Western Military District will participate in the air show

On the eve of celebration of 100th anniversary of Russian air forces and 70th anniversary of the 1st Command of air forces and air defense forces, the best pilots of Western Military District will meet near St. Petersburg. Over 40 first-class pilots will gather at Pushkin military airfield in order to demonstrate the combat power of Russian aviation, press-service of Western Military District (WMD) reports. AEX.ru

"Every member of the crew of all the aircraft and helicopters is the first-class military pilot with several thousand hours of flight experience. The first-class pilot is able to pilot the aircraft in any lighting and weather conditions and perform instrumental landing. All the first-class pilots of WMD are experienced in performing flights with tactical employment of aviation weapons at military firing grounds from Kaliningrad to Vladivostok and from Novaya Zemlya to Astrakhan ", - the press-service noted.

The military aviation of WMD will visit St. Petersburg for the first time on May 28th 2012. Tens of aircraft and helicopters of fighter, bomber, surveillance, transport and army aviation will be re-deployed at Pushkin military airfield.

The aviation of the 1st Command of air forces and air defense forces will perform planned re-deployment to Pushkin airfield in the network of preparation for the anniversary, which will take place on June 2nd 2012. On this day every guest will have an opportunity to see the unique historical aircraft and the most advanced combat vehicles operated by the Russian air forces. The air show with airborne insertion of sky divers will also take place, press-service of WMD explained.

The aviation of the 1st Command of air forces and air defense forces will be presented by Su-34, Su-24, Su-27, MiG-25, MiG-29SMT, MiG-31, An-12, An-26, An-30, An-72, Мi-8MTV5, Мi-24. More than 20 aircraft and helicopters will visit the Northern Capital from the WMD’s air bases located in Karelia, Voronezh, Kursk, Kaliningrad, Vladimir, Smolensk Region, Tver Region and Murmansk Region.
