Turbomeca (Safran Group) and Russian Helicopters Holding Company have presented a full-scale mock-up of Ardiden 3G intended for medium multi-role Ka-62 helicopter in Moscow in mid-May, press-service of Safran Group reports. AEX.ru

We remind you that Russian Helicopters and Turbomeca have signed an agreement on development and delivery of Ardiden 3G for Ka-62 helicopters last year. And now Turbomeca has presented the full-scale mock-up of the engine.

Ka-62 multi-role helicopter intended for servicing oil and gas companies, search-and-rescue missions and passenger transportation will be equipped with two Ardiden 3G engines – the special member of Ardiden 3 Family optimized for performing the above mentioned tasks. The Ardiden 3 intended for helicopters with weight-lift ability of 6-8 tons provide the highest performance in any climate.

Thanks to modular design and two-channel Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC) Ardiden 3 engines have a high reliability, low operational costs (time between overhaul is 5000 hours as of the date of the engine’s entry into service, and then – 6000 hours) and low fuel consumption rate (about 10% lower as compared to the other engines with similar output). The claimed engine performance has already been confirmed during testing”, - the company noted.

The certification of Ardiden 3G should be completed in 2014.
