Russian air forces will acquire more than 30 Ansat helicopters by 2020

More than 30 light training Ansat helicopters will be delivered to Russian air forces by 2020, RIA Novosti reports. It was declared by the representative of Russian Ministry of Defense, Vladimir Drik.

"The Sokol airfield of Syzran branch of Air Force Training and Scientific center "Air Force Academy" will acquire six new Ansat-U helicopters this year. And a total of 30 such vehicles will be delivered to Russian air forces by 2020", - he said.

According to him, the instructors of Syzran branch of Air Force Training and Scientific center "Air Force Academy" has passed re-training for operating this helicopter and they are ready to perform training flights with students.

Ansat light helicopters are intended for initial training of students of Air Force training centers and they should replace outdated Mi-2 helicopters in future.

As against the basic model, the twin set of control devices is installed in the helicopter’s cockpit. The second instructor’s seat along with six seats for the students is located behind the back of the trainee pilot (student).

The digital integrated fly-by-wire system allows using Ansat helicopters as the training ones. The system may be “adjusted’ in accordance with the requirements of specific flight taking into account limitations connected with the critical conditions of operation.

The system also allows simulating different flight situations, adjust the helicopter’s “tolerance” to control errors and use one vehicle for both initial and advanced training and even re-training of pilots.

The Ansat’s electronic engine control system allows simulating malfunction of one of the helicopter’s engines and saving the operating life of the engines.
