Four Boeing aircraft have joined the fleet of Transaero in May 2012 in the network of the carrier’s program for fleet expansion. These are: Boeing 777-300, Boeing 747-400 and two Boeing 737-700 NGs, press-service of Transaero reports. AEX.ru
«Boeing 777-300 is equipped with a system providing high broadband Wi-Fi internet access (data transfer rate at least 5 Mb/s). The service would be available as soon as we acquire all the necessary certificates for using this advanced and unique system», - the airline noted.
Boeing 777-300 is also fitted with advanced in-flight entertainment system made by Lumexis, allowing passengers to watch HD videos, listen to the music, play computer games, plug-in and recharge their mobile devices using USB cable. All the chairs in the jet’s cabin are trimmed with Alcantara (the material usually used for trimming of expensive cars and yachts). The jet has a four-class cabin configuration: the first Imperial class, business-class, premium economy class and tourist class. The aircraft’s total capacity is 373 passengers. It will be performing domestic and international flights on routes with the highest demand for seats in premium class, Transaero noted.
Boeing 747-400 is intended for 522 passengers. It has two-class cabin configuration: business-class and economy class. At present it is the maximum capacity for this aircraft type. These jets will be operated on popular tourist routes, including South-East Asia, Caribbean region and Europe.
Boeing 737-700NG also has two-class cabin configuration: business-class and economy class. Its capacity is 121 passengers. These jets will be operated on all the short- and medium-haul routes.
«The acquisition of four aircraft is another step towards implementation of Transaero’s program for expansion and renewal of its fleet», - the carrier’s press-service said.
The current fleet of Transaero includes 81 aircraft: 20 Boeing 747s, 13 Boeing 777s, 14 Boeing 767s, 31 Boeing 737s and three Тu-214s.
