Boeing Shanghai signed agreements for maintenance with UTair Aviation

UTair Aviation and Boeing Shanghai have signed two agreements for maintenance and engineering services, Boeing Shanghai Aviation Services Co., Ltd (Boeing Shanghai) reports.

“According to one of the agreements, Boeing Shanghai will be providing engineering solutions for implementation of UTair’s program on delivery of up to eight 767-200ERs, including development of a maintenance program, new interior configurations and elaboration of a modification program intended for provision of jets’ compliance with European and Russian aviation authorities’ requirements. In addition, Boeing Shanghai will provide other services to improve the safety level and efficiency of the aircraft’s operation by UTAir”, - the company noted.

Boeing Shanghai also has signed a contract for performing Bridge Check maintenance of the first 767 to be introduced to UTair’s fleet in July. Under another agreement, Boeing Shanghai has already completed the C-check on UTair’s Boeing 737-500.

“UTair Aviation is a special customer for Boeing Shanghai, which relies on our capabilities in the area of fleet management”, - said Bernard Hensey, President of Boeing Shanghai. “In the network of partnership with UTair, we will be paying special attention to supporting the airline’s safe and efficient operations.”

“Khanty Mansiysk-based UTair Aviation is an integrated air transport and aircraft services company with over 40 years of experience on the Russian market. At present UTair operates one of the Russia’s largest fleets and ranks among the top three largest Russian carriers by passenger traffic. UTair performs regular domestic and international flights, provides helicopter services, airport services and airline catering services”, - Boeing noted.

Boeing Shanghai has successful history of cooperation with airlines from Russia and CIS Region. To date, Boeing Shanghai has completed heavy maintenance on nine 767-300ERs for Aeroflot, two 767-300ERs for S7 Airlines and seven 767-300ERs for Aerosvit (Ukraine). Boeing Shanghai was established in June 2006 as a joint venture of Boeing, Shanghai Airport Authorities and China Eastern Airlines.  Boeing Shanghai offers a wide range of services, including engineering, aircraft maintenance and modification, component repair and overhaul and material management.
