Russia and Belarus will launch the digital control system for Joint air defense of the two countries, Izvestiya reports.
As reported by a top source from the General Staff, both Russian and Belorussian army men will have an access to the system. The Joint air defense will be formed by S-400 systems, short- and medium-range air defense systems and special equipment intended for radio and electronic intelligence (probably, Voronezh DM station).
«The group is controlled by a joint Command in automated mode. It has been achieved by close cooperation and joining the existing automated facilities operated by radio-technical and anti-aircraft missile troops of both countries», — the representative of General Staff explained.
He also added that the decision on employment of air defense facilities will be taken by a first command center to detect the enemy’s munition (missiles first of all). «There will be no time for coordination», — the source explained.
Belarus will have two such command centers, Russia – several ones. They will be controlling all the air defense facilities located on the territory of Belarus and Western Command of Russia. At that, according to the estimates of Russian experts, 16 divisions equipped with S-400 systems are required to protect Russia from American cruising missiles.
