Aeroflot is the first airline in Europe to put fixed Electronic Flight Bag into operation

Aeroflot is the first one among European operators of Airbus A320 Family aircraft to install and put into operation the fixed Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) made by GoodrichCarlisle, the airline’s press-service reports. AEX.ru

At present the company successfully operates four Airbus A320 Family aircraft equipped with EFB system. The following aircraft are equipped with the pads: «S. Vavilov» (tail number VQ-BHL), «G.Тitov» (tail number VQ-BCM), «D. Mendeleev» (tail number VQ-BCP) and «К. Malevich» (tail number VP-BUO), the airline noted.

"EFB system includes two fixed pads installed in the cockpit. The pads contain operational information (including aeronautical charts), and special software required for preparing and performing flights. The equipment for this project is supplied by world-known companies: Goodrich (equipment) and Carlisle (cables and project integration)", - the airline reported.

"The usage of EFB confirms that Aeroflot meets the highest international standards for promotion of safety. It is planned to equip all the Airbus A320 Family aircraft, operated by the airline, with EFB. Putting EFB into operation will allow Aeroflot to abandon the paper documentation and this fact underlines the carrier’s status as the ecologically responsible company", - Aeroflot noted.
