The increase of output of landing gear components will be carried out by VSMPO’s (VSMPO-Avisma, Verkhnaya Salda) machine workshop in the network of a contract on manufacturing the stamped blanks for Boeing 787, Federal Press reports.

The difficult manufacturing method of concurrent processing of three blanks has been implemented by the enterprise using Cincinnati triple-spindle milling machine, the corporate newspaper Novator reports. At present another milling machine with four spindles is being mounted and the start-up work will be started in mid-summer. In addition, the foundation has been laid for another Cincinnati machine with five spindles. Taking into account the fact that each machine has two portals, we may conclude that about 30 stamped blanks will be machined simultaneously in future.

We remind you that VSMPO-Avisma has received the approval for taking part in the project of Boeing and Messier-Bugatti-Dowty. The world-known airframer (Boeing) has highly appreciated the quality and meeting the delivery dates by VSMPO and has doubled the order volume.
