Irkut Corporation has taken part in «India Aviation 2012» airshow, which is taking place during the period of time from March 14th to March 18th in Hyderabad, for the first time. The airshow is intended for demonstration of civil aircraft, the corporation’s press-service reports. AEX.ru
The main event, carried out by Irkut Corporation at the airshow, was presentation of MS-21 program for the airlines of South Asia, commercial and governmental structures connected with air transportation. The presentation has been conducted by the Head of Department for Marketing and Sales of Civil Aircraft, vice-president of Irkut Corporation, Kirill Budaev.
"The detailed information regarding status of MS-21 program, features and advantages of MS-21-300 and MS-21-200 aircraft has been presented to the authorities and employees from Indian airlines. The participants of the ceremony have taken interest in full-scale mockup of the cabin and cockpit of MS-21", - the company noted.
A captain from Air India Gurudutt noted that the interior and cockpit are definitely exceling Dreamliner and added that “he expects to see the real work of the aircraft”.
Manager of Jet Airways, Margaret Rasquinha, said that the economy class cabin is “perfect”, noted that it is equipped with very comfortable chairs, spacious hatracks and large illuminators. She also underlined that the “feeling of open atmosphere arises inside the jet”.
According to Sanjay Verma, vice-president of Religare Voyages, «the comfort of the cabin is definitely higher as compared to the rivals».
The cabin and cockpit have also been highly appreciated by other participants of this event, Irkut reported.
Kirill Budaev said, while summarizing the presentation, that thanks to Su-30MK program Irkut has the reputation of manufacturer of advanced aircraft and the reliable business partner in India. «The interest, taken in MS-21 during the airshow proves the possibility for expanding the partnership with Indian companies in the civil aviation segment», – vice-president of Irkut Corporation noted.
We remind you that MS-21 program assumes the creation of short and medium-haul passenger aircraft intended for Russian and global market.
MS-21 will significantly outmatch the existing aircraft by technical level. Implementation of state-of-the-art technologies will provide decrease of operational costs by 12-15%, improvement of comfort and new level of eco-efficiency.
Agreements and contracts on delivery of 235 MS-21-300 (181 seats) and MS-21-200 (150 seats) aircraft have already been signed with Russian and foreign companies.
