Bombardier (Canada) is finishing the certification of short-haul Dash 8Q-400 turboprop, Kommersant reports.
Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC) has reported yesterday, that it has completed the pendency of application from Bombardier on certification of engine and propeller of Dash 8Q-400. "Now we will consider the application regarding certification of the aircraft, — IAC noted. — At best, Bombardier will acquire the certificate in three or four months".
Dash 8Q-400 is a short-haul passenger aircraft developed by Bombardier Regional Aircraft (Canada). This jet is the latest member of Dash 8 Family (DHC-8). Its capacity is 68-78 passengers. The turboprop is equipped with Pratt Whitney Canada PW150A engine. Its cruise speed is 648 km/h.
The market insiders believe that the greatest demand on Bombardier Dash 8Q-400 may be provided by local carriers of Siberia Region. Among the potential customers are Buryat Airlines, Yakutia, Tomskavia, Angara.
