Indian airlines have already taken interest in acquisition of at least 30 Sukhoi Superjet 100s, while Sukhoi Civil Aircraft (SCA) intends to sell at least 100 SSJ100s at the Indian market, RIA Novosti reports. It has been stated by the president of SCA, Vladimir Prisyazhnuk.
"We are already negotiating with several Indian airlines, which are interested in acquisition of Superjet 100 aircraft", - Prisyazhnuk said on the sidelines of the third India Aviation 2012 international airshow.
SCA, which forms part of United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), presents Superjet 100 liner, which will perform demonstration flights and air excursion with journalists onboard at the airshow.
The short-haul Superjet 100 liner is able to carry 98 passengers and has a range of 4.500 km. This jet combines efficiency and comfort and its fuel burn is 10% lower as compared to the analogues. At that, the president of SCA noted, that the jet’s price is 15% lower in comparison with its rivals.
"India has the world’s second largest population and the fast emerging air transportation market. Last year the traffic volume in India has increased by 16%. So we must offer our aircraft to India", - Prisyazhnuk added.
The third India Aviation 2012 international airshow has opened in Hyderabad (India) on Wednesday. Airframers and suppliers of aviation equipment from 18 countries are taking part in it. Russia is presented by UAC with two projects: Sukhoi Superjet 100 and MS-21. Among other famous manufacturers, which are taking part in India Aviation 2012, are Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Dassault, Embraer, etc.
