Roscosmos has promised to entrench itself among three space leaders

The Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos) has developed a project of “Development strategy for space activities until 2030” and introduced it for consideration by the government, Kommersant reports.

The special attention in this document has been paid to division of priorities in different areas of space activities and plan of stage-by-stage modernization of rocket and space industry enterprises. In addition, Russia still has the ideas of exploration of Mars and other planets of the Solar system. The scheme of Moon landing is also present in the program. It is assumed that a special presidential body will coordinate the implementation of it.

The project of "Development strategy..." has been introduced to the government last week. According to the document, the elaborated strategy is intended for specifying the means of implementing the law “About space activities”, "The basics of RF policy in the area of space activities for the period until 2020", and "Innovative development strategy of RF until 2020" taking into account the long-term forecasts.

The aim of the strategy is keeping the Russian aerospace industry on the world level and entrenching among three space leaders by 2030. Three areas, necessary for achieving the program’s goals are specified in the document. The top-priority work is connected with development and operation of spacecraft, technologies and services. The next group includes development of manned, transport and on-planet equipment for space exploration, including development of reusable aerospace system. The third group includes the development of technology advance for mission to Mars and creation of next-generation orbital station.
