Following the results of the meeting, the company’s management should elaborate a business-plan for creation of JV in cooperation with Russian Technologies and propose it for consideration of Aeroflot’s Board of Directors.
The joint venture should become the leading MRO enterprise in Eastern Europe and CIS Region. Upsetting the MRO activities from the Aeroflot’s primary activity will help concentrate its efforts on performance of flights and decrease its operational costs connected with MRO. Taking into account the significant expansion of Aeroflot’s fleet due to acquisition of advanced Russian and foreign aircraft (Boeing 787, Boeing 777, Airbus 350, Airbus 330, Boeing 737 NG, SSJ 100, МS 21, etc.), the creation of such enterprise will help Aeroflot strengthen its positions as one of the most effective and fast-paced airlines of the world, the airline noted.
In addition, the experience and manufacturing capabilities of Russian Technologies will help JV provide MRO services not only for Group’s aircraft, but also offer MRO services for all the airlines based in Eastern Europe and CIS Region, Aeroflot added.
