Russian Ministry of Defense and RAC MiG have signed the contract on delivery of MiG-29K fighters

Minister of Defense of Russian Federation, Anatoly Serdukov, and CEO of Russian Aircraft Corporation MiG (RAC MiG), Sergey Korotkov, have signed the contract on delivery of MiG-29K and MiG-29KUB ship-based fighters, the company’s press-service reports. AEX.ru

In accordance with the contract, RAC MiG will deliver 20 MiG-29K and 4 MiG-29KUB fighters to Russian navy during the period from 2013 to 2015. The jets will be delivered in a new technical configuration, which meets the requirements of the Ministry of Defense.

Russian Minister of Defense said: «The signing of this contract is the real contribution to implementation of long-term program aimed at re-equipment of Russian armed forces. Following the air forces, navy’s naval aviation will acquire the advanced attack aircraft equal to the best foreign analogues».

CEO of RAC MiG, Sergey Korotkov, said that the signing of state contract is the significant result of longstanding work on development of new fighters and launching their mass production. «MiG-29К and the aircraft developed on its basis will provide the stable utilization of the corporation’s production capacities in the mid-term», – CEO of RAC MiG noted.
