"Transaero has signed a contract with United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) on delivery of 10 Tu-214 liners in 2004. Three liners are currently operated and the rest have not been delivered. We have agreed on conversion of the rest Tu-214 jets into new order for Sukhoi Superjet 100s", - Pleshakova said.

«At present we have signed memorandum of understanding and we hope to sign the firm contract soon», - she said.

According to Olga Pleshakova, the first two liners should be delivered to the airline by 2015. The jets will be used mainly for flights from North-West regions of the country. Depending on the condition of short-haul market segment, the jets will be based in Vnukovo or Domodedovo. The first liners will be based in Pulkovo.
