Commander-in-Chief of Russian air forces, Colonel-General Alexander Zelin said that RF air forces will acquire more than 60 advanced PAK FA fighters, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports.
President of United Aircraft Corporation, Mikhail Pogosyan, noted that three PAK FA prototypes are currently taking part in the flight testing. "Now the third jet has joined the flight test program. More than 120 flights have been performed", - he said.
The first flight of PAK FA (Т-50) has been performed on January 29th 2010 in Komsomolsk-on-Amur. The second test aircraft has performed its maiden flight in March 2011. The ground and flight testing are currently underway. The first public demonstration of the jet has taken place on August 17th at MAKS-2011 air show in Zhukovsky.
It has been reported earlier that the price of T-50 will be less than $100 million, which is two times lower than the price of F-22. Russian fifth-generation T-50 fighter should be put into operation by Russian air forces in 2016.
