The number of T-50 fighters (PAK FA), which are taking part in the flight test program, will increase five times by 2015, BFM.ru reports. It has been declared by the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian air forces, General-Colonel, Alexander Zelin.
According to him, three jets are currently taking part in the flight testing and three more will join the program soon. «The total number of planned test vehicles is 14», - he said.
Zelin noted that testing of PAK FA is going on in accordance with the schedule. More than 100 flights have already been performed in the network of flight test program.
The first flight has been performed by PAK FA on January 29th in Komsomolsk-on-Amur. The first public demonstration has taken place on August 17th 2011 at MAKS-2011 air show in Zhukovsky.
Zelin stated in August 2011 that the first serial Т-50 (PAK FA) fifth-generation fighter will be put into operation by Russian air forces in 2014-2015.
PAK FA program assumes development, serial production and put into operation of the fifth-generation fighter. As compared to the previous-generation fighters, it has some unique features, combining functions of strike aircraft and fighter.
